Well…
the Lake Ontario drama continues.
And honestly, the lake must be kinda flattered, right?
I don’t think I’ve heard as many people say the name “Lake Ontario” before this.
Real ego boost for Lake Ontario.
As you know, Trump renamed it Lake America by Executive Order…
which meant that U.S. government agencies had to refer to it as such.
Well…
sorry.
U.S. government agencies and Google…
who changed the name on Google Maps before Trump even put the executive order down on his desk.
Apple held out for a few days…
but has now bowed its head before Orange Palpatine…
and changed the name to Lake America on Apple Maps.
Now, Google’s slogan was initially:
“Don’t Be Evil.”
Then they changed it to:
“Do the right thing.”
They’ve chosen a new slogan which is a hybrid of the two.
Their new slogan is:
“Don’t be right. Do the evil thing.”
Not to be outdone…
Apple’s slogan was “Think Different.”
But they’re now changing it to:
“Think different… unless it makes Mr. Trump angry.”
Remember MapQuest?
They refused to rename Lake Ontario…
causing millions of people to say:
“Remember MapQuest?”
MapQuest is now the number one app download.
Which is wild.
Though there are concerns that the only reason they haven’t changed the name of Lake Ontario…
is that it’s been so long since people used MapQuest…
nobody on staff can remember how to edit the map.
Prime Minister Carney said that Canada would be willing to return to trade talks…
and told the U.S. to:
“Stop doing memes, stop throwing shade.”
I’ll be honest with you…
that is the least cool Carney has ever sounded.
Stop doing memes. Stop throwing shade.
Then somewhere in the background is Dominic LeBlanc yelling:
“NO CAP!”
Hearing Carney talk like that felt like listening to a grown-up talking to a child and…
ohhhh.
Now I get it!
We’ve got a show!
