CHRISTMAS SINGLE RELEASED THAT ISN’T AS BAD AS SOME OTHERS
(STRATFORD, ON) – NOV 21, 2012 – Pop/Rock band, Brittlestar, are releasing a Christmas single on Friday, Nov 23, 2012 that isn’t quite as bad as some others released this year (we’re looking at you, Backstreet Boys).
The song, called ‘The Christmas Message’, is a festive, danceable, pop-rock song in the style of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’. Unlike the aforementioned Christmas classic, none of the proceeds will go to charity unless, as writer/performer Stewart Reynolds says, “we sell, like, a lot.” The song is also largely a spoken word performance, making it difficult for people to enjoy and sing along to while drinking, at least until the outro chorus when they can join in the heartfelt and meaningful refrain, “Christmas! Christmas! Christmas time!”.
“I wanted to create a song that people would download onto their phones and iPods, add it to their Christmas playlist, and then immediately delete after Christmas,” says Brittlestar songwriter, Stewart Reynolds. “I think I’m on track to achieving that.”
The lyrics to the song speak to the general population who don’t really care what your reasons are for celebrating Christmas, so long as you’re buying the next round of drinks or your mom has just made some fabulous shortbread. ‘The Christmas Message’ is available on iTunes and all major digital music retailers worldwide.
A hybrid music/lyrics video for the song, featuring Caleb Sebben, is approaching ten views on YouTube.com.
