Absolutely! I began my MBA at 46, and I’m completing it this year at 48. It’s tough balancing work and learning, but returning to school now, rather than in my twenties, has made for a more enriching experience.
Much against the better judgment of some friends and family ,I just completed a month trip into the Australian outback on my own ,with a walker and a very bad hip ( worse now thanks for asking). I took trains , a 4 seater plane, buses and boats. I saw and did lots that I have only read about. I watched the sun rise over the Nullarbor plain. I saw waterfalls from above at the end of the rainy season in the Kakedu . I made some great friends , discovered new foods and met some interesting people. I returned to Canada on a month long cruise to Vancouver and then stopped in Victoria for a few days to visit some family. The friends I usually travel with wouldn’t go because they consider themselves too old for such a venture . I figure if I fall out of the sky from a small plane it’s a heck of a lot better death than a month in a hospice .. I will be 80 in January. If you have a dream,go for it.
At very near to 73, I am more conscious than ever about time. Use to to be a lot of it left. Not so much as I move around the sun.
Physically I need to shed weight. A work in progress.
I love music and computers. I am really enjoying the opportunities to develop my skills in playing and learning. To help on the learning side, I take copious notes.
My skills in music are still advancing. I don’t like to practice, but I do enjoy playing. Not really the same thing but sort of is.
I thoroughly enjoy reading about your exploits. Please continue documenting and encouraging others.
What’s funny is that I thought I was too old to download an app called Vine. I complained to my kids that there dad watches too much baseball & I was bored. They said watch Vines. I found you there. Your Vines stood out as exceptionally well done. You’ve been making me laugh ever since. (Hubs still watches too much baseball)
Living life is the hardest, and the only thing, we will ever do. Every encouragement counts. Thanks!
This is so perfect! Thank you so much for sharing this insight.
