I read this delightful piece to my 96 year old special mom. She said, "Like Charlie Angus, he is working for the good of Canada." Then she added (she's always adding), "I don't know what to say about Daniel Smith."
I love this. Reminds me of an incident in an Irish Pub in Kilarney. Two bartenders, one nasty one friendly. Nasty one asked me if I was American and I said, no, Canadian. He snapped back "Canadian/American same thing". I looked him in the eye and said "of course, kind of like Irish/British same thing, sorry". He was stunned for words. The friendly bartender than said "she's right ya know ya daft fecker". The nasty one apologized and then they both bought me drinks. Even all those years back, Americans were not well liked. I really do wonder how it is for them now. I like the idea of a clear identifier to our Canadianess.
May I suggest also that every Canadian passport be delivered with a quantity of little Canadian flag lapel pins, the use of which would be mandatory.
Brought about 50 flag pins to a big software confab in San Antone - ran out completely day 2.
Like they accused a priest of arson 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love it. And we DO love the mosaic. They pushed that image hard back in the day and it stuck well.
Thanks, a delightful read.
How is “sorry” spelled (spelt?) in Helveticaese?
I'm always using the hashtag #sorry - some corncobs tell me "hashtags don't work here!"
so I reply, "#sorry"
YOU DO SUCH IMPORTANT WORK!
... despite the fact that you live in the Measles capital this year. Ah, SW Ontario... (grew up outside of Komoka)

Love your dispatches!
