or How The Culture War Is On Reduced Price For Quick Sale

Culture War.

It sounds tidier than an actual war.

Less camouflage and better food.

There have been a string of chancers (as my Scottish Dad would have called them) who want you to pick a side.
Pick a team.
Pick a belief system, accept all that it brings and reject all that it doesn’t.

There are those that want you to think that the choice is binary.

For example, if you think that transgender people are to be accepted and respected like anyone else, you must also think that it’s okay for teachers to have cat litter boxes in their classrooms for those children who identify as cats.

That is ridiculous.

And note… that’s not happening.
It never has.
Kids aren’t using litter boxes and teachers aren’t suggesting they do.
In a world lousy with cameraphones, nothing goes undocumented.

The current day world operates as follows…
If something outrageous was happening, it would be a TikTok trend.
Like that woman who is trying to get into her house through an open window and ends up upside down with her boobs akimbo.

Yet, there are those who would like you to think that the choice is binary.
Black or white.
Pick a side and everything that is not on that side is wrong.

Of course, life doesn’t work like that.

However, there is one exception to this.
One important binary choice that actually does define you.

If you are asked to choose between being an asshole or being not-an-asshole, you should choose the second one.

Those asking you to choose to be not-an-asshole are looking to create a world with less assholes.
This is good for all of us.
Left, right, whatever.

Here’s the important part to note…
Where you are from, what colour your skin is, what language you speak, whether you are religious or not, what gender you are, what your sexual orientation is, or how many penises you have… none of that plays a part with whether or not you are an asshole.
It’s a choice.

The Culture War is a marketing tactic for pretenders to the throne.
Ignore it.
It’s an Asshole War.
Do your civic duty.
Don’t be an asshole.
