Three statisticians were in the jungle and they came across a ferocious and very hungry tiger.
None of them wished harm to the animal but it was quickly becoming evident that it was a matter of life or death.
Thankfully, each of them had a rifle for just such peril.
Unfortunately, however, after their many weeks in the jungle, they only had one bullet each.
The three men raised their rifles.
The statistician on the left fired first and the bullet whizzed to the left of the beast.
The tiger growled in celebration.
The statistician on the right aimed. His arms trembling, he mustered his courage and pulled the trigger… but missed to the right.
The man-eating beast licked its chops.
The statistician in the middle lay his rifle down without taking a shot
and said “Well, I’m glad that’s over.”

Just because the odds are in your favour doesn’t mean you don’t have to act.
The odds are based on you acting.

Polls should not be taken during an election. Those whose party is "leading" or those whose party is "trailing" in polls may decide the election pretty much decided and just not bother to vote.
