Do What You Can Because You Can
How To Remember To Use All The Arms You Have
Sorry for being so absent. My arm briefly stopped working.
Hilariously (to my arm, or God, or fate), it happened right in the middle of lots of work. The kind that really only becomes challenging when you don’t have two working arms.
It’s largely back working again.
It seems to have been a trapped nerve situation.
In my neck.
Caused by bad posture… caused by too much phone and laptop.
No severe pain, just an arm who’s Arm IQ (I just made that up) plummeted.
I certainly hope it continues its current trajectory of getting better.
I know there are lots of proverbs and parables and Joni Mitchell songs about not knowing what you’ve got until it’s gone but here’s one more…
Pause.
Briefly.
Think of all the things you can do, all the things you’re capable of doing, all the things you want to do, and then…
Do them.
Or at least ask yourself why you aren’t doing them.
Then do them.
There may come a day when you don’t get to choose to NOT do something.
There may come a day when your stupid arm just stops working.
(This was typed slowly, badly, but sufficiently using two arms. Both mine. )
